Residents and Businesses Consulted on Planting Proposals

Ornamental Pear tree

Residents across Stanney Wolverham, in the target areas of Rochester Drive, Alnwick Drive, Thornton Rd, Milton Rd and St Andrew's Rd have been consulted on plans to plant ornamental street trees along the pavements, verges, and green spaces where they live as part of a funding package from The Forestry Commission's Setting The Scene For Growth programme and monies from Cheshire West and Chester Council through their Section 106 and Environmental Improvement programme for the area.
Residents received a letter from The Mersey Forest outlining why trees were proposed and giving them an opportunity to choose the type and location of ornamental tree to be planted.

Businesses have also been consulted particularly around the shops on the corner of Wolverham Rd and Milton Rd where new flats are being built and converted and where public realm improvements are intended.
It is hoped that these improvements will not only make the area more pleasant to live in but that it will attract more shoppers to the area.
